Po’ailani Inc., established in 1976, is a private non-profit organization located in Kaneohe, Hawaii, dedicated to providing comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment services. Their mission focuses on delivering community-based, client-centered care for individuals grappling with both mental health and substance use disorders.
The organization operates two specialized residential treatment facilities on Oahu: a 16-bed program in Kailua and another 16-bed program in Kaneohe. Both facilities are licensed as Special Treatment Facilities by the State Department of Health’s Office of Health Care Assurance. These programs offer 24/7 professionally directed services, including individual, group, and family counseling, mental health education, relapse prevention, anger management, medication management, motivational enhancement, trauma-informed care, cultural recovery activities, recreational and spiritual activities, and access to 12-step recovery meetings.
In addition to residential care, Po’ailani Inc. provides outpatient treatment services. Their Day Treatment program offers five-hour sessions, five days a week, while the Intensive Outpatient Services consist of three-hour sessions, three days a week. These programs encompass similar services as the residential programs, ensuring continuity of care across treatment settings.
A cornerstone of Po’ailani Inc.’s approach is active client involvement in recovery planning and decision-making. Recognizing the unique strengths, preferences, and needs of each individual, the staff collaborates closely with clients to develop personalized recovery plans. This empowerment fosters a sense of ownership and commitment to achieving set recovery goals.
With a foundation built on compassion, respect, and quality services, Po’ailani Inc. strives to enhance the quality of life for those they serve, guiding clients on their journey out of darkness toward sustained recovery.
