Hope House in Augusta, Georgia, is a well-established treatment center focused on helping women and families overcome substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and financial instability. With more than 33 years of experience, it is the only licensed and accredited residential treatment facility in Augusta-Richmond County serving both women and children.
The center provides a range of services designed to promote long-term recovery and self-sufficiency. Clients have access to safe housing in individual apartments, substance use and mental health treatment, parenting support, life skills training, childcare, healthcare coordination, and outpatient care. These services work together to create a stable, supportive environment for women seeking a fresh start.
Hope House offers several specialized programs tailored to individual needs. Residential treatment provides on-site, structured care for those needing intensive support, while intensive outpatient services offer a more flexible approach. There is also a dedicated program for pregnant and postpartum women, as well as transitional housing assistance that helps clients with rent and utilities for up to six months. The Plan of Safe Care program focuses on ensuring stability for both parents and children.
Under the leadership of CEO Karen Saltzman since 2008, Hope House has expanded significantly, including the addition of The Highlands West, a 42-bed residential supportive housing program. The facility is staffed with experienced clinicians, childcare professionals, and support staff, all dedicated to helping clients on their journey to recovery.
Admission involves an application process, document submission, and a review. Pregnant women and those with intravenous substance use are prioritized. While treatment and counseling services are provided at no cost, clients are responsible for their medications.
Hope House is deeply committed to empowering women and families, offering a path to stability, independence, and a healthier future.
