Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) is a comprehensive facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, dedicated to assisting adults over 18 who are dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The admissions unit operates daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, with the last assessment starting at 6 PM. For those requiring medical detoxification, the medical triage unit is available 24/7.
Residential treatment services are provided at the Stephen R. Booher Facility in Coral Springs, offering a 92-bed, dormitory-style setting. The typical program duration is 60 days, divided into two phases: the initial 30 days focus on stabilization and skill development to prevent relapse, while the subsequent 30 days emphasize community engagement, family involvement, and discharge planning. The facility also features an Intensive Family Involvement Program and a Job Readiness Program to support clients’ reintegration into society.
Outpatient services, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient care, are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 9 PM. These services are offered at multiple locations, including BARC Central in Fort Lauderdale, the Edgar P. Mills Multi-Purpose Center, and the South Regional Family Success Center in Hollywood.
