The Choctaw Nation Recovery Center, situated near the Choctaw Nation Health Care Center in Talihina, Oklahoma, offers a comprehensive 60-day residential treatment program for adult Native American men aged 18 and older. This program is designed to address substance use disorders through a blend of individual counseling, group therapy, and family counseling. Clients also benefit from 12-step education, relapse prevention strategies, coping skills development, and engaging activities like a ropes course.
Eligibility criteria include possessing a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) from a federally recognized tribe. Choctaw tribal members may reside anywhere, while members of other tribes must live within the Choctaw reservation. Prospective clients undergo a phone screening, followed by an application process reviewed by the Recovery Center Treatment Team. Approved applicants are then placed on a waiting list for admission.
