The CALM Center, located at 6126 E. 32nd Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a crisis stabilization facility dedicated to supporting youth aged 10 to 17. This 24/7 center offers immediate assistance for those experiencing emotional, behavioral, or substance-related crises, ensuring that care is accessible regardless of a family’s financial situation.
Upon arrival, each young person undergoes a comprehensive assessment conducted by a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and life skills coaches. The team works collaboratively to develop an individualized care plan aimed at stabilizing the crisis and laying the foundation for recovery. A typical stay lasts about one week, during which residents engage in individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The center also incorporates specialized therapies, including art, pet, and music therapy, to provide diverse and engaging healing opportunities.
Education continuity is a priority at the CALM Center. An on-site classroom ensures that residents can maintain their studies during the academic year, minimizing disruptions. Families are also actively involved in the process, participating in education sessions and aftercare planning to ensure a smooth transition home and ongoing community support.
As part of the Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma, the CALM Center is certified by CARF International and adheres to the Sanctuary Model, a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes safety and healing. The center plays a crucial role as a bridge between outpatient and inpatient care, offering a safe, supportive environment for young individuals and their families to navigate crises and begin the journey toward resilience and well-being.
